Lanka may ban maids to Jordan

The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau has warned that it will be compelled to suspend sending maids to Jordan if recruitment agencies which hire these maids to the Middle Eastern country fail to deal with their problems.According to the Bureau these agencies have been given a two week deadline to address the concerns of maids sent to Jordan including providing compensation for those facing abuse. Why only Jordan? Should apply in general. This is the only country, I believe, that relies mainly on its poor women folk to bring in in funds.

This has to be dealt with priority. Government should black list countries where there is modern day slavery and should restrict sending maids to those countries.
