The Editor of the 'Lanka' newspaper Chandana Sirimalwatte who was in CID custody was discharged a short while ago, JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said. The Editor of the 'Lanka' newspaper was arrested by the CID on January 29th.

Cant understand why should anyone thank the President for this. In the first instance, there was no need at all for the CID to detain him for carrying out his functions as an Editor of a newspaper.
