What assets are you guys talking about? KP does not have any assets anymore. He is in a safe house until all his assets that are in foreign banks are recovered and all else have been taken and shared as per the rules of war. Bounty from the proceeds of war. NOW why don't "we the people" ask all ministers and top officials to declare their assets?

    Tisaamharama Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:44 AM

Whose security are they talking about?

    Hamzie-Doha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:46 AM

Double standards. One rule for KP another for SF.
King Kekille Rule towards Suba Anagathayakata.

    FAYAD m Wednesday, 20 October 2010 12:01 PM

    ???????????????????

    Jayantha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 12:08 PM

Now who wants to know how much KP had? None of your business, we will let u know after allocating who should get what. (With apologies to Dinesh)

    Wasantha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 12:16 PM

What is the relationship between the security reasons and the assets of KP?. Why can't you explain so called security reasons without bluffing blank words. Truth is, no other reason that KP spent millions for last two elections on behalf of government and now all have become under obligation to KP.

    Josh Wednesday, 20 October 2010 12:37 PM

    security reasons or personal reasons??

    Yehiya-Doha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 12:59 PM

    Already played.

Aiyo Silva Wednesday, 20 October 2010 01:11 PM

Cannot be disclosed as most of the assets and wealth now already in the pockets of the big guns..Otherwise how come LTTE bosses are now OK and in the Govt??shameless and against all ethics

Calistus Jayatilleke Wednesday, 20 October 2010 05:29 PM

Maybe there's nothing much left to declare, as KP must have paid a big ransom to enjoy a luxurious life under the protection of the bigwigs in the government. Squeezing KP's funds for their personal benefit is nothing for the rogues who even robbed Tsunami money.

    Tilak.A Wednesday, 20 October 2010 06:34 PM

Don't worry about the Gold. Initial 200 KG has become 100 now. Evaporated. According to Dinesh, it is in the process of handing over to the Central bank. You should understand that he being an old man, cannot handover the whole lot at once because he cannot lift 100 Kg alone. It will take time as he is taking piece by piece to the Central bank.

    shovini Wednesday, 20 October 2010 07:31 PM

There is nothing like that,. It has to be disclosed. There is no security reson for that . The government owes it to the people. This statement is unaacceptable. Assets have to be disclosed in parliament . These assets dont belong to any one family.

    shovini Wednesday, 20 October 2010 07:36 PM

The truth will come out soon and the people who are hiding the facts will have to face the dire conseqences. Deepest sympathies.RIP.

    dsr-neckar Wednesday, 20 October 2010 07:40 PM

    Security Reason! Nice “W” question!!!
Whose security? Pay masters and receivers.
Who are they? LTTE Diaspora, local and international service providers (Weapon dealers and politicians)
What will happen? All involved parties get caught and to be prostituted.
    This is the Security Reason!

    izy Wednesday, 20 October 2010 08:16 PM

Both of them were elected members of parliament and if need be, they should have been asked to declare their assets BUT KP is a terrorist known the world over and he is UNDER ARREST and IN GOVT control for funding terrorism and also procuring arms and ammunitions So his assets MUST be declared NOT by him but by the PPL who already has control over him and his assets THAT BEING THE GOVERNMENT and this is uttered by a minister hmmmmmmmmmm God Bless Sri-Lanka

    Kadar Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:41 AM

I think it's not disclosed not because of security reason but because of it will go to the pockets of some officials.

    Cyril Fernando,Sydne Wednesday, 20 October 2010 08:33 PM

Why ? Is he a national hero

    shace-UK Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:02 PM

In sri lanka money is always superior than values in Life!!!!

    sarath g Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:19 PM

the rulers get this kind of chance only once in a life time, so dont be jeolous. After all this is Sri lanka.

As Gypsies says Lankawe ape lankawe...

    garawi Wednesday, 20 October 2010 11:21 PM

Do we really know what his assets are! It is naive to believe that KP will disclose all and also naive to believe that the government will be able to trace all of them. KP is playing a double game, colluding with the government with the aim of continuing the Ealam struggle by political means while taking the government for a ride. Gota, being a master planner is trying to net KP. It depends on who will win at the end.

Kalani Raja Thursday, 21 October 2010 12:52 AM

Was it the same reason why UPFA candidate did not declare his assets prior to the election? Or did he have genuine fear of his "Suba Anagathayak"?

    SAM Thursday, 21 October 2010 02:01 AM

I thought the war was over??????? What security reasons????

Hemal de Silva Thursday, 21 October 2010 02:26 AM

Where are these assets "secured"?. Who is guarding them and keeping the assets hidden?. At least charge 10% interest.

    Roshan Thursday, 21 October 2010 02:36 AM

    Asset value is too high!!!!!!!!

    kassa Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:20 AM

Why Not, Who give up this Asset?

    malithlk Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:25 AM

Then what the hell government announced saying KP has 7 ships and 600 bank account. IF disclosed Mr family and MP members can not share these assets. may be that's why government will not disclose KP's assets.

Smart Aleck Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:27 AM

Why? Are they securely in someone's pocket?

    malkanthi Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:32 AM

Your are probably right, only escape route for KP is purchasing leaders.

    spark Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:32 AM

The question is what is the security reason for not disclosing KP's assets when he is under the full custody of the GOSL? The only reason this wealth is not disclosed is it is going to be used for ulterior corrupt purposes.

    sandman Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:36 AM

    What security reasons ?????

    Hirantha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:48 AM

NO LAW FOR KP BUT IT IS ONLY FOR US WHO PAYES TAXES.

    lankaputha Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:51 AM

what ... declaring assets of KP is a security issue. Is any one trying to give a white van ride for KP and ask for ransome if it is declared.

    Twitter Wednesday, 20 October 2010 10:52 AM

When they say "Security Reasons", for who's security? Come on... when bluffing, try to do it properly.....
