The people should have a careful look into Sajith and karu's work since 2004. They always try to pull the leg of UNP as well as the true leaders of the UNP. that'swhat they still in same place. Now at least they should try to work together to defeat the government which they had strengthen beyond the limitations.
They should try to take the leadership positions after Ranil who sacrificed his personal life to the UNP. and no politician in SL had come through so many hardships like Ranil. all the mud sliding campaigns were only targeted at Ranil from the governments since 1994 to 2012 and nw from government and so called dissidents. why is that?? please work together if u want to do good to the people...

Not the time to do it. Stay in the UNP and keep attacking Ranil! He does not deserve to be Leader.
ravishan Tuesday, 31 January 2012 09:15 AM
If RW has no plans of quiting then a gamble of forming a another party is worth a try.
nihal Tuesday, 31 January 2012 08:33 AM
This is shameless declaration!! The one who keeps clinging on to leadership and fixing votes to do so is the ONLY CAUSE of the sad state of this once proud party. Admit the REALITY Lankan - if you love this country!!

Adivasi, who wanted Ranil and who asked him to sacrifice his life, no one is holding him the worst LTTE representative in colombo and stooge of Norwagians ready to rip the country apart; morally also disgusting fellow; even Karu or Sajith they all belong to same category of traitors; all these fellows should be put in jail for life time like Sarath Fonseka.

you have been fool by some other fools

Once Mr: Karu left with 17 and returned with nothing then he became "Musila" against Mr: Ranil and now he can do nothing in the island.
ramesh Tuesday, 31 January 2012 06:07 AM
Good move. It will show how much power they have and how popular they are. My bet They will destroy the UNP within and and later wrest control of power.
Dee Tuesday, 31 January 2012 05:50 AM
dont waste time
Labby Tuesday, 31 January 2012 05:28 AM
Didn't he do it when he lead 17 MPs out of the UNP?
Labby Tuesday, 31 January 2012 04:46 AM
This reminds us of one time strongman Sirisena Cooray who also fell out with Ranil and contested seperately under the bus symbol or some such thing. We all know the number of votes he received...

As a people, we seem to have a tendency to be over-imaginative resulting in unnecessary speculation and rumour mongering. The situatiion gets aggravated with the presence of enough media channels to bring rumours and speculations to the public domain.

if karu form a anther party or not the people have been dressed as goates they will vote again for the ruling party the unp cannot stand straigt now too many cooks they have already spoilt the soup poor karu
Rimzan Hassan Tuesday, 31 January 2012 03:15 AM
I say it is time to move on, the UNP is lost hope we must wait until Ranil dies or he resigns for the UNP to form a government. so Mr. Karu please get out of this sinking ship before its too late.
Amos Tuesday, 31 January 2012 02:33 AM
If only some of these genuine UNP'ers had the guts to do it.
raj Tuesday, 31 January 2012 02:42 AM
in reality, both Karu, and Sajith are planning to start new political party with new alliance. Wait and see!
Lankan Tuesday, 31 January 2012 01:20 AM
Karu is the guru for spoiled the UNP. left with 17 members.
Kolomba Kaka Tuesday, 31 January 2012 01:24 AM
Lessons learnt from Lalith faction of UNP indicate forming a new party will not help anyone. Its better for Karu and the likes fight from inside to remove those "incorrigibles" from the party.
Haffie Tuesday, 31 January 2012 12:43 AM
Chase Ranil away. If it is not possible, it`s better to form a separate party. There will be overwhelming support as vast majority of UNP supporters hate Ranil`s leadership.
