Time this was sorted out and the two worked in collaboration and not against each other. This hopefully will be to the benefit for one and all

This is one brilliant proposal that should ensure the buses are regulated on the road as each bus becomes a share of the holding company. Excellent work if it can turn into reality.

How many such joint companies will be there? Does it mean that there will be no more bus service run by individuals or will the companies function side by side with buses run by individuals?

lets start a training center for bus drivers and conductors, which includes the art of decent communication and courteous disciplined driving skills.

JRJ privatized the CTB and started the private bus mafia.
Now what?
Aru Monday, 25 October 2010 05:50 AM
Gemunu Wijeratne I hope that this is not another ploy by you to fatten the private bus owners like you. You people are not the least concerned with the plight of bus travellers, instead only to fatten your purses. Don't corrupt the SLCTB as well. They run when you do not run i.e. during strikes and non-peak hours. Your bus crew are a law unto themselves. So it is recommended that you stay where you are.

It is high time we have an efficient public transport system in this country ... traveling by bus is a nightmare ... when you get to work half your energy is gone, once you get home you are totally worn out ... our quality of life and performance at work will all improve if this is set right ... I don't mind if the bus fares go up so long as we get an efficient service .. more buses obviously and a strict time table routine must be implemented for this to work.

Bonggo Monday, 25 October 2010 11:50 AM
This is a good system. In the end have 3 or 4 big companies. No where in the world individuals are allowed to operate buses.
