Guys! You don't know the fact that Fuel prices in Jaffna is still more expensive than other areas of Sri Lanka. I don't know the exact price but it is still higher than colombo.
Smart Aleck Wednesday, 14 July 2010 09:53 AM
Yes! This can be interpreted as REVERSE DISCRIMINATION.

North and East starts harvesting..Good news for Jafna. We will have better future as promised by the president.

This is to show the entire world that any part of Sri Lanka is safe for even the president and his entire cabinet to have a meeting. I can understand why the LTTE supporters are agitated. But what does not make sense is why the anti govt readers don't undertand the simple reason for having the metting in Kili.
Dinesh Wednesday, 14 July 2010 08:09 AM
Why price reduction is only applicable to Jaffna. Is it a separate country.
Concerned Wednesday, 14 July 2010 08:08 AM
For how long? Don't hoodwink those people with false promises!

ha ha but there is no fuel available in the penninsula, isnt it a banned item and only rationed?
Gunda Wednesday, 14 July 2010 07:27 AM
I offer my house for the next Cabinette meeting free of charge. May be these guys will decide to reduce some items for the benefit of my village.
Ramzeel Wednesday, 14 July 2010 07:22 AM
Its a good move by the Govt, but if they can reduce the fuel prices in the North why cant they reduce it in the other areas. This is absurd decision of the Govt. Also the Cabinet must put all its resources into use and find a quick solution to the displaced persons who have been living for more than an year as refugees in their own land.

Well done Mahinda -
HaHaHa Wednesday, 14 July 2010 07:13 AM
This is one of the fundamental rights Jaffna people asking for!!
Sanath R Wednesday, 14 July 2010 07:04 AM
It is always better if equality is applied covering the entire island on all matters rather than giving preferences area wise, to justify the concept of one nation.
local boy Wednesday, 14 July 2010 06:56 AM
If they conduct this meeting in colombo, it could be drop by Rs30
nishV Wednesday, 14 July 2010 06:45 AM
oh! how i wish that "Jaffna peninsula" phrase was replaced with "whole island" in this news :)
