The International Cricket Council (ICC) is investigating alleged corruption in Sri Lanka, which centres around a taped conversation, a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) press release has said.

A recording of the conversation had been given to a Sri Lankan media organisation, and SLC on Thursday, August 9. SLC then passed the tape on to the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU), currently in the country for the SLPL. No local media outlets have as yet reported on any corruption allegations.

"The tape was handed over to an official of the ICC Anti Corruption and Security Unit [ACSU] currently in the country covering [the Sri Lanka Premier League]. Investigations are underway in coordination with the ICC," the statement said.

"We are unable to give any additional information other than what has been released to the media," SLC CEO Ajit Jayasekara said. "We are cooperating with the ICC as ACSU conducts the investigation."(ESPNcricinfo)

If there is evidence to prove that corruption has indeed taken place in SLC, it will surround among the senior players, if proven so, it will be a sad story for SLC, as these same senior players are the high eaners in the IPL. Either way as some politico's might "say you can never have enough money" Still what does it matter, corruption is never uncovered in Sri Lanka. It is a country where corruption breeds and the people who can do something about it arn't, as they benefit from this virus as well. Not forgetting that they rob our hard earned money. So now you can sit and think why our cream citizens are now citizens elasewehere.

Not at all, Minister, a only corrupted state for the time being. It might fail consequently, if this state of affairs continues unabated.

When I did my O/L in 1970 December, question papers of 5 subjects leaked out and each day, the morning newspapers published the question paper of that morning. It resulted in cancellation of those 5 subjects and fresh exam was held in March 1971. At least these days there are no news about leaking of question papers before the exam dates and foolproof in that respect. It is a very good sign despite mistakes in question papers.

This shows the democracy and willingness to curb the corruptions in Sri-Lanka. Even now showing corruption to the world with out fear. This is very good. There are many other institutions with corruptions , One is share market.

why SLC can't take action? Is it because it doesnt understand the language used on the conversation or doesn't feel enough evidence to question?
