The visiting United Nations Human Rights Chief Navaneetham Pillay told the media today that she came to Sri Lanka not to criticise but to assess the human rights situation in the country.

“I have not come here to criticise. I have come to raise human rights concerns. And I place myself within the human rights standards set for the world, set by all the governments of the world including the government of Sri Lanka. So I’m not writing my own statute. I’m looking at the frame work,” she said.

She said she would hold talks with both government and civil societies and was hoping to travel around the country as much as she could.
“When I go back I would be reporting on the human rights situation in Sri Lanka,” she said. (LSP)

Under any circumstances Dear Madam, you should allow any organization or individual to propose things that will harm our country or racial status. Whatever your religion, you must think that what you take from this world is good and bad things that you have done when living in this world. Education also says same thing.

it is unfair to call her a diaspora.. she is durbun born , indian woman. Our government has lot to hide in the war if you consider what they handled the water issue of weliveriya people. I am a patriot .. but i do not believe this government is telling the truth here..
