I think first better check the criminbal records of palimentarians. None will qualify to leave the country at all. Including Dilan Perera. What an Idiot ?
Yuri Thursday, 11 July 2013 01:41 PM
This is only a eye wash for mounting pressure. first get the people back to country from the middle east jail please

for around 20-25% more(nett) than what could be eraned back here , they put their entire families in jeopardy. its not the money actually, its working in 'RATA' that makes them do it. this also goes out to professionals.
Boomerang Thursday, 11 July 2013 07:59 AM
I hope Mr. Dilan reads all this..
L. Perera Thursday, 11 July 2013 06:13 AM
Not kept any promises. Do not come and ask to send money to Sri Lanka.

Kuriosity Thursday, 11 July 2013 05:36 AM
very true Marian, but then what about the maids who are doing good and well looked after? wouldn't it be better if the government was more strict on a minimum wage and tougher with these agencies?
tony Thursday, 11 July 2013 05:34 AM
PARLIAMENTARIANS DO NOT ADHERE TO THEIR REQUIREMENTS LIKE DISCLOSING THEIR ASSETS ETC. FIRST OF ALL WE HAVE TO DISCIPLINE THE MPS'. CAN THE GOVN GIVE THE POOR ASSISTANCE AND BAN HOUSEMAIDS GOING TO THE ME WITHOUT BLAMING THE LAW OF THE COUNTRY. SRI LANKA IS A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY. THEY ONLY HOLD ELECTIONS. THEY WIN BY HOOK OR BY CROOK AND RULE THRU THUGGERY. THEY CREATE AND HELP ORGANISATIONS LIKE BBS FOR THEIR BENEFIT. WILL SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE NEFARIOUS ACTIVITIES OF MR REGIME SPEAK OUT THE TRUTH BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

Another move for the conman to earn more
Kiribanda Wednesday, 10 July 2013 01:41 PM
This is a good move...should end up with a ban sometime in future. But we have to remember that the very reason why they go is bcoz the economic environment is not conducive, and we have to create opportunities for them.
Gerard Wednesday, 10 July 2013 01:34 PM
This is sheer stupidity on the part of the foreign employment. It leaves room for very selective & unfair implementation, besides if all the criteria mentioned were in order, why would these poor women need to go and slave abroad?. It is sheer desperation that makes them go.
Cobra Wednesday, 10 July 2013 01:11 PM
Has Dilan ever considered the reason why they go for employment in the ME? Has his government ever done anything conducive for them to remain here and lead a somewhat comfortable life? Has he considered why politicians murder each other to contest elections?
Marian Ranasuriya Wednesday, 10 July 2013 01:07 PM
Very good decision Mr Dilan - there are women who have come to work leaving children with cancer, grown up daughters, and various other problems. Also in Middle East even taxi drivers are allowed to hire a maid and with their very little earning they cannot afford to pay the maid's salary and other things therefore they start harassing the maid and when they cannot tolerate they run away from the house and look for embassy shelter.
shihan Wednesday, 10 July 2013 12:55 PM
Poor house maids....... they have to suffer in foreign countries,,,,, and now in Sri Lanka too..........
