A group of LTTE suspects at the Vavuniya Prison had taken three jailers hostage in protest after three of their cadres were transferred to the Boossa prison following a court order given three days ago, Police said.

During a visit to the Vavuniya Prison this evening these three jailers were forced into a cell and locked up by the LTTE suspects. Later they demanded that the authorities recall the LTTE suspects who had been transferred to Boossa in order to release the jailors.

Several senior police officers were called in to settle the matter last evening. (Romesh Madhusanka-Wanni)

"Several senior police officers were called in to settle the matter last evening." A very good news !!!
I Hope our Police would have done a wonderful job with these Terrorists.
By the way, I thought we've got rid of all the LTTE terrorists from our country.
Haven't we rehabilitated the rest of them yet?

The government wants time - until September 2013 - to do so.

Nandikadal Lagoon is not far from Vavuniya, ask the terrorists if they would want to visit their leader ??
