Leader of the Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe requested for a joint effort to build a just society where human values are respected. Mr. Wickremesinghe who issued a special message to mark the Haj Festival today called for a joint effort of all communities to fulfil this purpose.

He said brotherhood and co-existence which brings unity are the main components that are associated with Haj.

The opposition leader therefore wished all Muslims a happy festival.
