Mr. Wijeyananda Dahanayake was the caretaker Prime Minister for a short time after untimely death of Mr. S.W.R.D. Bandaranayake. At the next general election his party contested and lost badly. He resigned and walked out of Temple Tress waved a Galle bus on Galle Road on his way back to his home town Galle. That was Sri Lanka politics at that time.
