We have done TUA in the past. But unlike other TUA ACTIONS we were always so keen to maintain emergency services.Thats why we dont gain much.We are too human even at TUA

Are you not aware that doctors do maintain emergency services during trade union actions? If they keep silent whilst politicians meddle with their profession, their professional standards will deteriorate and the whole country will have to pay the price.

    Good news.
This morning a young woman was knocked down by a vehicle on the Baseline Road at Polhengoda. She was severely injured and rushed to the hospital. I was wondering what would happen to her because of the strike that had been planned. A good case in point that doctors should not strike for whatever reason. Doctors who do not understand this should not enter the profession as lives depend on them. This is why doctors are so special.

Kill patients ? Silva, don't you fall sick ?

De Silva Friday, 20 January 2012 09:19 AM

So, what should the doctors do if these government idiots can not understand and does not care about their grievance ?

    den Friday, 20 January 2012 09:35 AM

You are the one who vote for these idiots and brought the power!!!

    RDF Friday, 20 January 2012 09:56 AM

Quit the posts, so that politicians can become doctors, like them becoming lawyers!!!!!!

    Anjana Friday, 20 January 2012 10:07 AM

If the doctors are that important, as a responsible government they should act in a way without creating such situations. Whether its Doctors or CEB engineers, they have a right to protest and do strike if their demands are not met. There is no such a way of doing a strike without affecting the public. If the strike is not affecting the public i dont think the government at least bother to look at the matter. Anyway this is not the 1st step they have taken to solve their problem but last. So there were ample opportunity for the government to avoid such situations but have they ever done that without waiting till the very last moment.

Idiots can not administrate intelligent people.

    ishan Friday, 20 January 2012 10:09 AM

In any doctor related strike emergency services are provided. Strange you don't know it...

    michael Friday, 20 January 2012 10:38 AM

the lady in questioned would have been treated even if there was a strike, as emergencies are attended to even during trade union action.

    P P M Friday, 20 January 2012 10:34 AM

expand the private hospitals, and let them scrape all the money that poor people has. That is the way forward of this gov. So no strikes and no government doctors !!
