Why only for Public Servants , Who don't even pay taxes.Their
out put is only 40% and there is one govt.employee for Evey 19 people in S L Including children.

Its Impossible to increase the salaries by 10000 due to the current economical developments in SL as SLGO working to expand the Parliment building with 750 M...hahaha...???

During the Presidental election SF promised the same thing. But majority of the pulic service voted fror MR. Even during the parliamentary election. I do not know how RW going to adapt age old tactics and convince people in this country.

Its easy said that done when you are in opposition. While understanding that the cost of living has gone up . Increasing Salaries will only cause inflation and reduce the real value of Money . The Government should not print anymore money to finance deficits and appoint an independent currency board with educated economists and financial experts to decide on this process without interference . Further to this by eliminating wastage, corruption and the world record holidays in Sri Lanka will be in a better position to drive down cost further .

govt says per capita income is now 2000 dollars. that means a family of five is making rs 1 lakh a month. so what are these UNP and trade unions jokers saying?

Is the Hon Perera MP also going to say how this rise will be funded? The over-bloated public sector is already a drain on the economy, further more the public servants pay no tax. If the so called "rich" countries are cutting down expenditure why should Sri-Lanka mortgage its future by excessively funding the public sector. Focus on efficiency related pay instead and pay the good public servants well!
