Ganja in women’s quarters

The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) by obtaining a search warrant from the Maligakanda Magistrate conducted a search operation in the women inmate’s quarters of the Welikada Prison and seized 44 ganja cigars, 53 mobile phones and three knives. All the 464 women inmates were searched by the PNB with the assistance of prison officers. (SD)
