If MR stayed as leader without pre-maturely going into an election, where the Indian RAW and American CIA along with other foreign parties played a major role against the re-election of MR, today Sri Lanka would be on the road to an even higher position surpassing nations economically. Also, Gadafi though a dictator, he looked after his people and was developing Libya rapidly overtaking Western economies and this could be why the West wanted to stop him and not for the Libyan oil. Gadafi in fact had saved so much of funds, some European leaders befriended him and received massive amounts of cash to conduct their own re-election. He was eccentric, but a reliable friend of the poor nations, in times of need.

Obama also a great leader who eliminated the most dangerous religious terrorist animal Bin Laden without any casualities to civilians. Praba stood for an objective whether its right or wrong until his death with hus family. Some political opportunist turn the hat and support whover come to power.

sir, you did the right thing and destroyed the LTTE. you lost control of the country on the second term and became disoriented in managing the country. thugs started to rule and people pushed you out of power. you and we all losers in this sorry saga.

If it was the responsibility of the government to safeguard the war heroes why did he not safeguard Field Marshal Sarath Foneska??????
TJ Monday, 05 October 2015 10:24 AM
In short you dug your own grave by anatomizing the west. You are fortunate that you did not face the same fate as that of Gadaafi.
Rasheed Monday, 05 October 2015 10:08 AM
You were the great leader, who destroyed the LTTE, but you allowed your sibblings and supporters to loot and murder, that is the mistake you did. Otherwise you are great.
Sapu Sunday, 04 October 2015 09:13 PM
If MR stayed a few more years we would be like Libya
ANTON Monday, 05 October 2015 09:11 AM
THE REASON IS THAT GADAAFI COULD NOT STAND PROPERLY DUE TO SOME TROUBLE IN HIS LEG.
SIRIBIRIS Monday, 05 October 2015 08:45 AM
GADAFI DID A LOT TO THE LIBYAN PEOPLE, HE DIDNT OBEY TO THE WEST, SO THAT WAS HIS FATE...U ALSO DID A LOT TO SRI LANKAN PEOPLE, BUT U DIDNT OBEY TO THE JUDICIARY AND LAW OF SRI LANKA, SO THIS IS UR FATE

MR expects everyone to agree with everything he did or everything he said on all matters. A gentleman will always defend himself or others by discussing /arguing on a point that he believes is correct. But will dare not adopt ways and means to "insult" anyone by resorting to such low grade tactics.
