The former Ports Authority Chairman Priyath Bandu Wickrama had been summoned by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and questioned for five hours, Police Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said.

The CID probed the assets of Mr. Wickrama after being granted approval by the Colombo Chief Magistrate on February 20.

Sad fact is under a crooked govt top professionals in virtually every sector- ports, highways, aviation, power, energy, telecom, medicine, law have become compromised. It is difficult to find senior people with a sterling reputation.

Will you stop using the word “grilled”? This is very disturbing and as for some of the first-time viewers may think that CID had grilled this man to death in the BBQ machine. Please stop using the word instead use the word “questioned” which makes sense...

Yes it is amazing how unprincipled so called professionals are. Significant number of them are slaving for crooked politicians or crooked businessmen. They come from good families and are respected in society

Former SLPA Chairman has built a massive house at Subuthipura, Battaramulla. Also, him and his wife owns the Gismo shop (American Standard agency) at Nawala. How did a public servant get so much capital to invest in such a short time is a big question.

This a genuine professional guy who had many initiatives at port and an honest man. How sad and pity he had to pay a premium for crooked government top officials.

A good lesson to a higher level government service, if you try to be very smart and do more work, you are in trouble!!!. If you do less work and just pass time you and you are in a low profile, you are safe!!! no investigations or inquiries.

What we hear is the word.....Grilled....Grilled...and...Grilled. Are all this Grilling done to an Ordinary Citizen or to a VIP (Very Influential Person). If it is a VIP, it will be a waste of time and energy as they could go through an eye of an needle.
