The article reads as "was accused of carrying out the attacks and killings during July 1, 2001 to December 31, 2001.He had functions as the LTTE leader of Palampatar". What a surprise ruling. Doing such & much harm, as well knowing that a terrorist leader he is acquitted by AG. If it is so, no need of judges or magistrates AG can do away as needed.
The God Father Thursday, 19 September 2013 06:47 AM
Good strategy by the Government as a Donkey can be used for so many different purposes , he was an order taker anyway.
CHANDRAPALA Thursday, 19 September 2013 06:59 AM
We are not surprising the sudden change of the government. But, people cant fool all the time.

IS THE VERDICT QUESTIONABLE???? IT WAS THE ACCUSED WHO CONTRADICTED HIS CONFESSION AND NOT THE PLAINTIFF. WHY DIDNT THE PLAINTIFF OBJECT

Neloufer Thursday, 19 September 2013 05:43 PM
Really? So if freedom fighters are suicide bombers, who are they? And if they ethnically cleanse villages, are they killing for pleasure or for power or both? Very good news indeed that former Tigers are released scot free. Is this reconciliation? Must be!
Namal Perera Wednesday, 18 September 2013 09:06 PM
The Judge will rewarded for releasing a future UPFA candidate. God save former democratic Sri Lanka.
Rajitha Wijayaratne Wednesday, 18 September 2013 12:55 PM
The judge aquited him becuase his confession was full of contradictions?
Sam Wednesday, 18 September 2013 01:42 PM
When the accused confesses with contradictions they are acquitted ... this will be a good precedent ... when you are charged confess with contradictions, you can go free.
C.K.Lankaputhra Wednesday, 18 September 2013 01:50 PM

Very good news. There is a different between a freedom fighter and the one who commit genocide.
Nodrog Thursday, 19 September 2013 02:26 AM
Another instance of a tamil being harassed? How come no comments about the govt's fair play here?
Saskia you need to learn the meanings of the words 'freedom fighter' and 'genocide'. The LTTE were terrorists NOT freedom fighters.
Kiris Baba Amaray Thursday, 19 September 2013 02:46 AM
Wrong verdict. Murderers should be punished. This man should have been hanged.
Duminda N Jayatileke Thursday, 19 September 2013 03:02 AM
LTTE are recognised around the world as freedom fighters, so there is nothing you can do about it.
Labby Thursday, 19 September 2013 04:38 AM
