Democratic National Alliance Leader General Sarath Fonseka says he is going to file legal action over the military’s failure to allow him to attend parliament yesterday. VIDEO
Fonseka made these statements while speaking to reporters in parliament today.
The General also said that there were no war crimes committed in Sri Lanka durig the war and added that a weekend newspaper had misquoted him by stating that the Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakse had ordered the LTTE to be shot when they surrendered with white flags during the final days of the conflict.
He further said that the army had not shot anybody and such allegations were baseless. (KB & YP)

And what are those "non patriotic comments", Mr. Freagle?
And please, do tell us what those "illegal transactions" are.

Well so you were lying to the public when you said that orders were given by the Sec.Def to kill LTTE leaders bearing white flags.
We all saw the video of your meeting SF. You just can't change the tune when the coin doesn't fall your way.

Is the General getting a fair trial?
If his son-in-law is arrested, do you think he will be treated fairly?
Thursday, 06 May 2010 04:52 PM
Well, he is being forced to live inside a cell very near the Colombo courts. The problem is that he is not allowed to walk out of his accommodations.

How court cases already ?.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 05:04 PM
The case should be expedited.
True true...
But how are you sure that he is going to be convicted and sent to prison? Have you already made the judgment?

Is Speaker of the parliament sleeping with the matter without giving a ruling safeguarding the rights of the parliament members?
Thursday, 06 May 2010 10:12 AM
When one gets into quicksand, the more you struggle, the deeper you sink. Being an army man, is'nt he familiar with the 'bugle Retreat' ?
Thursday, 06 May 2010 10:14 AM
Maybe the General should be living next to Courts as he is court bound regularly.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 10:23 AM
Breach of Parliamentary Privilege, General. But will that Attorney General guy play ball?
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:01 AM
That is what the govt has reduced this great man to, for his courage and still continued resistance against vengeance for daring to contest the President.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 09:33 AM
SF should consult Wimal Weerawansa before taking any legal action.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:05 AM
we love our General, we will be with him. go head General.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:11 AM
We are sick of this Fonseka saga comments. The government should look at the development of the country and not this perpetrator. He should be punished by court marshal / court for his non patriotic commentsand other illegal transactions.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:21 AM
Yes, go ahead General. Now you have a very willing and powerful ally in Gel Wimal as well.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:22 AM
this fellow should be in Jail... now inparliment...
I think crazy Lanka has more number of criminals in the parliement...
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:24 AM
It is a shame on the Speaker who does not understand Parliamentary privilages.I feel that the Speaker is a lame duck and was compelled to take up this post by the President.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:25 AM
ALL PEOPLE IN AUTHORITY CAN FOOL ALL HUMANS-BUT THEY WILL NOT ESCAPE FROM THE HANDS OF GOD-IF THEY HAVE REALLY DONE ANY WRONG AGAINST THE CIVILIANS
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:34 AM
Recently there was an interesting case in which a person in colombo was fined Rs:50.00 just for pasting a poster of SF during the Presidential election. By this method govt would have collected billions of money as fines and at least could have used to import medicines to the hospitals where no free medicines for the patients now.
Thursday, 06 May 2010 11:35 AM
This fellow Fonseka, cases should expedite and have sent to prison. The country needs to progress and this guy is a spork to the development. He should be over and done with!
