Both the United States and European Union have introduced tough new restrictions coming into force later this year and designed to effectively choke off Iran's oil exports. But -- unlike rounds of sanctions imposed by the United Nations Security Council -- they are not binding on other countries. ... This could mean that the Sri Lankan Government may have mismanaged their funds and have the people pay for this. When The Honourable Minister compares Sri Lanka fuel prices with Canada, Brazil, Australia etc. is a complete joke. If the Sri Lankan people would earn what they earn in those countries their would not be such a problem.
