If party never change the policies JVP will lead to power.
rw Monday, 15 November 2010 10:32 AM
Conventions have no hard and fast rules or significant changes.
midda Monday, 15 November 2010 10:38 AM
haaaaaaaa.....which December 2011 or 2012 or ??????? i dont think 2010????
Aiyo Silva Monday, 15 November 2010 11:31 AM
Get rid of P.Ranil if UNP is to do well..This leader is the biggest mistake UNP ever made and will continue to make unless he steps down or is kicked out.
Top Sri Lankan Monday, 15 November 2010 11:34 AM
For sure, at the convention they will conclude , UNP stays the same but the meaning changes to UTTER NO POLICIES (UNP).
Gihan Monday, 15 November 2010 11:36 AM
Same thing, Ranil is leader of UNP
Smart Aleck Monday, 15 November 2010 11:45 AM
Closing the stable door after the horse has bolted. How stupid can some people be?
Sanjay Monday, 15 November 2010 11:45 AM
We know that the UNP is prudent enough to call the shots at the appropriate time despite all the vituperations.
Lasamen Monday, 15 November 2010 11:59 AM
If there is no leadership change there is absolutely no chance to come to power
Anushka Monday, 15 November 2010 12:01 PM
Wonder what kind of scheme Ranil will come up with this time to postpone his fate?
Yehiya-Doha Monday, 15 November 2010 12:45 PM
First bring the democracy inside your party.
MRMF Monday, 15 November 2010 12:47 PM
Who will be the Leader? RAnil, Karu or Sajith! This is the burning issue within and outside the Party
UNP Monday, 15 November 2010 10:31 AM
Hope Hon.Ranil Wickramasingha will be resign before the convention...
nimal gune Monday, 15 November 2010 08:04 PM
as long as Ranil remains the UNP all this is just a waste of time. The Key to rebuilding the UNP is a new leader.
Rnizar Tuesday, 16 November 2010 04:28 AM
Wish there an outcome and a n.ew Leader
malkanthi Tuesday, 16 November 2010 04:29 AM
UNP must make the party strong in order to win in 6 years, It is very likely even ruling party supporters will vote for a strong opposition.
Sandun Tuesday, 16 November 2010 06:03 AM
Only Sajith can bring the UNP back to power...!!!!
sonno Tuesday, 16 November 2010 06:09 AM
Ranil is a Leader without blemish a master in the game. He's not a bull in the china shop. Sir you shall continue to be our Leader and we will see victory soon. Slow and Steady wins the game.
malkanthi Tuesday, 16 November 2010 07:15 AM
You are absolutely right, but ranil is not a practical person, cannot even address the common masses!
voter Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:08 AM
JAYA WEWA !!!
at least make some effort to bring back the 30+ UNPERS who are in the government . We need a solid opposition to see that democracy will live long !!!
Imran Hameed Tuesday, 16 November 2010 11:09 AM
UNP, please wake up and be real. Learn from what has happened so far. You've been talking so long about reforms and kept making silly changes. THROW RANIL OUT. THAT IS THE ONLY REFORM NEEDED.
Above the crowd Tuesday, 16 November 2010 02:49 PM
They all should jump in the lake if Ranil continues to be the leader.
papa Wednesday, 17 November 2010 07:48 AM
Indeed.
Though we can't manage his own party, he will be able to make this country a first-world one, equal to Europe, in 2 or 3 years, if he comes to power... Ranil Forever!!!
Bad Boy Monday, 15 November 2010 08:29 AM
A Good move ... At least we can see a UNP gov in another 6 years time..
Hash Monday, 15 November 2010 08:43 AM
hope its not another baalagiridoshayak
Mr.Sherlock Monday, 15 November 2010 08:51 AM
Thank God, Finally...
Now let's hope for the Best.... UNP 4 EVER !!!
Above the crowd Monday, 15 November 2010 08:53 AM
You have to wait for another 60 years under the present leadership,
manmohan Monday, 15 November 2010 09:00 AM
if Ranil comes to power expect SriLanka to be the most developed and discipline nation !
He has the ultimate political ability to do that. no one else in Asian politics !
Niro Monday, 15 November 2010 09:02 AM
too late....but better now then never.......
m rifai nazim Monday, 15 November 2010 09:06 AM
I am a die-hard UNPer. But I do not think UNP could come into power for at least another 2 decade. President Mahinda's each step ahead takes onestep back with UNP. Basically Mahinda is going to be another Premadasa with a BLUE colour.
Game Kolla Monday, 15 November 2010 09:06 AM
UNP is like ship without Captain.
willows Monday, 15 November 2010 09:07 AM
will this really take plce???
Ganga772 Monday, 15 November 2010 09:09 AM
Dear Mr. RW, please explain us how you build an international harbour in Polonnaruwa at the gathering of UNPers.
NADARAJAH SETHURUPAN Monday, 15 November 2010 08:27 AM
cold war.
Above the crowd Monday, 15 November 2010 09:19 AM
A congregation of people with below average intelligence in one place. Holy mackerel!!
.
Cynic Monday, 15 November 2010 09:27 AM
MR might declare curfew on 12th December and bail out RW. After all where in the world can you get such a docile opposition leader.
Capsule Monday, 15 November 2010 09:34 AM
Let this convention bring in new leadership in the party, which will definitely revolutionize the party back in the driving seat
dutugamunu Monday, 15 November 2010 09:53 AM
Finally ....
rasika Monday, 15 November 2010 10:06 AM
I am 100% confidence that Ranil will make a Jilmart to avert any attempt to challenge his leadership.
steve Monday, 15 November 2010 10:07 AM
Another convention without any convincing changes!
Rajitha Monday, 15 November 2010 10:08 AM
thumbs up if you think this will not be held on the said date.
Dinesh Monday, 15 November 2010 10:10 AM
will this be the last convention of UNP ?
Mark Monday, 15 November 2010 10:21 AM
Still true good to be true... If the Opoosition is struggling to establish democratic rights of the party to such an extent what can we expect if they come to power ?
Jif Monday, 15 November 2010 10:22 AM
will this be the turning point in the SLFP dominance ?
