One person was killed and 14 policemen and two civilians were injured in a grenade explosion inside the Nuwara Eliya police station a short while ago, Police said.
The suspect, who was arrested while traveling in a bus from Katharagama-Katagamuwa for possession of ganja, had detonated a grenade when he was taken to the police station killing himself. The OIC and HQI are in critical condition and are being operated by doctors, hospital sources said.

Police seems to have forgotten the Suspect Handling Procedures very quickly. This should be an eye opener for them. With all our experience this kind of people must be eliminated without any sympathy.

What?? ...Has he been taken into the Police Station without being searched properly?...I think first of all basics will have to be taught to our police force.

do not blame at police for every thing. they are the people who dedicate their sweat for the betterment of country. mistakes are common to all of us.

There seems to be more to this.So many guys are taken in for ganja and to think the OIC and HQI have been so close to him as to suffer serious injuries makes it look a bit strange.

There must be an organised gang behind this operation. Otherwise he won't simply kill himself.
