Exam cheats suspended

Over one hundred candidates who sat for the Korean Language Fluency Test which was held today have been suspended after being caught cheating during the exam.

Some candidates had sneaked mobile phones into the 13 exam centers in Colombo to cheat and were caught hiding mobile phones inside their garments.

However the Korean officials who observed the tests have stated that the Language Fluency Test was conducted in a fair and secure manner and the quota for Sri Lankan workers would be increased next year. (Daily Mirror online)

Cheating in school translates into bribery and corruption beyond school.

I commented last night but the comment did appear: just how many qualified teachers of Korean are there in this relatively small country? And what is meant by "fluency" in Korean? A few phrases of greeting and knowledge of the alphabet?

Culture is a habit which the people generate with time. As it is not wrong to say that cheating is a part of our culture. Of course this habits can be reversed as time goes by.
