Eight fined for indecent behaviour

Eight persons who were accused of behaving in an indecent manner under the influence of liquor at a public place in Slave Island on Vesak Poya Day were ordered to pay a fine of Rs.28,000 by the Colombo Fort Magistrate today.

The eight accused, residents of Slave Island area had been arrested by the Slave Island police while they were allegedly behaving in an indecent manner near the Slave Island Railway Station on Vesak Poya Day.

The Eight accused who pleaded guilty to all chargers were ordered to pay a fine of Rs.3,500 each by Magistrate Ms. Lanka Jayaratne. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

    kelaniya fellow is seldom not misbehaved, but still approved by higher authorities, poor man is punished.
