Too much breaking wind by politicians

Gamini - i am inclined to agree with you bearing in mind the location of the reported tremors. The Dept. has said it was 0.2 or 0.3 which is barely noticable. I think this theory makes sense.
achtung Tuesday, 29 May 2012 05:26 AM
i think an earthquake occured in SL in 1930's i still remember hearing such a story from my late grand father as a kid.
Gamini Monday, 28 May 2012 05:13 PM
3.0 in Richter scale is not something huge and noticeable very much. Where was the epicenter? Could this be the usual case of hydrological pressure releases from beds of huge reservoirs?
A Sri Lankan Monday, 28 May 2012 08:03 AM
Seems like Sri Lanka is being 'warned'...The only solution to avoid an adverse tremor or disaster :
Purify ourselves with GOOD DEEDS!!!
Not only the tremors..Thursday night's thunderstorm was really freaky too...never experienced it before!!!

Those who amassed the Sunami Aid is happy to have an earthquake to have another Helping.
Hasthi Monday, 28 May 2012 04:30 AM
For Earthquakes, early warnings are not possible; for Tsunami it is possible if it is generarated some distant away. What we need is a sound set of Building Guidelines and evaluation of risky buildings. The next is educating the people Safety measures and orderliness and responsibility in dealing with crisis, if ever one occurs.
RANJITH Monday, 28 May 2012 04:18 AM
Where is the epicenter? only magnitude can say? And was it really calculated?
Farzan Monday, 28 May 2012 03:44 AM
It is not a good indicator. All the time there is a tremor or a quacke. This is the good example that nothing is under our control.
ase Monday, 28 May 2012 03:43 AM
There's no way of predicting earthquakes as of yet so early warning is not possible. Tsunami early warning; we already got a system in place covering eastern Indian Ocean.

Most of intellectuals predict there will be a big one. Regretfully, no science is able to prepare for it. Only our deeds...

Instead of having our own satellite we are urgently required a early warning system for tsunami and earthquakes.
