JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva said no one should judge his party by its performance at the elections as its struggle to resolve the burning issues in the main sectors went well beyond elections.

The JVP has suffered a setback by losing its three representations - two in Sabaragamuwa and one in the East. However, the party retained its seat in the North Central Provincial Council.

He said the party would launch a struggle to resolve the crisis in the education sector and the issues facing the farmers. "These struggles are far from over as the election alone will not help the people resolve the burning issues in society," he said.

The JVP is finished they got a lease of life by joining the SLFP and contesting under the UPFA. Alone they have no appeal even to the rural folk . They too have realised that yelling at the top of their voices and having Uthgoshana's do nothing in terms of a better life.
Weerawansa if he contests on his own will loose too.

Innocent capitalist parties in Sri Lanka!
They are most democratic parties in the world. They didn't shoot at people ever. They didn't even think of fulfilling IMF, WB and ADB conditions to end free education free health service and so on. That's why they are getting bags full of votes so smoothly.
Go on ahead intelligent voters and these parties will help you to see the country you are expecting to see and live..

Can the JVPever imagine holding Ministerial Posts unless they betray their poilicies and "mukkufy" with some other polical party, Can the JVP ever form a Government.Like the Ghosts rise from the Grave Yard, the LSSP,NLSSP VLSSP,CP the JVP also dominates the political Kanatta. It has no sence of political shame or maturity otdherwise will the JVP Murder a host of innocent people like Premakeerthi, Prof. Wijesundera, Saddatisse Thero etc. At an Election people register their acceptance of a Party, from which verdict one has to judge the standing of a Party. JVP wants not to judge them from Election results.. Then by th number of cold blooded murders they did?
