Why only public servants ? Now it is high time the Government consider a 'dole' for all living in Sri Lanka.

kamil falool Saturday, 27 November 2010 09:04 AM

BE HAPPAY WHAT THE BUDGET HAS APPAROVED ,PRIVATE SECTORS ARE ISSAPOINTED ,IT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED

    apsara Saturday, 27 November 2010 09:29 AM

Prof. Tissa should have tailored his comment as 'at least Rs. 2500/- increment shall be given to public and private sector employees including parlimentaian' in order to create a Equal and Darmishta Society as per our Regional Leader MR's Mahinda Chintanaya.

    Apsara

    apsara Saturday, 27 November 2010 09:34 AM

Also Prof. Tissa should have think about ordinary laymen, and all skilled, semi-skill, and un-skilled casual workers.

Rather than icreasing the salary to sertain people, if the govt. reduce the prices of good and services then all the people of the mother land can be benefitted.

    Apsara

    malkanthi Saturday, 27 November 2010 08:13 AM

I thought Prof Tissa Vitharana is more worried about sidelining as senior citizens of the parliament, ministry without power.

    wimal Saturday, 27 November 2010 10:29 AM

Please remember, this veteran leftist minister has already done a lot for the country in the area of Science and Technology and also has contributed a lot to draft the best political solution so far to prevent future separation of Sri Lanka.

Believe me, you wouldn't find people like this when all Tamil parties ask for a federal Solution in the future.

    RF Saturday, 27 November 2010 10:38 AM

Seems the man is not happy with what he got...... Senior Minister..... But no power to sit in the Cabinet........ This is just the start more to speake out.........

Ruwan Ferdinandez Saturday, 27 November 2010 10:57 AM

Exactly. He should resign from his post (leaving it to somebody who could do the job) and stop taking his salary in protest.

    Felix Saturday, 27 November 2010 11:20 AM

Why bother about the public servants increments. they will learn to manage their affairs with the little they get. You should say that you are disappointed with the increments and benifits received by the parliamantarians. Should have been at least Rs. 100,000 . God bless our country.

    gamini Saturday, 27 November 2010 11:53 AM

Not sure why there should be a salary increment at all when they hardly work ""

Mr. Prune Saturday, 27 November 2010 12:28 PM

Mr. Minister, there is no need for you to worry about Rs. 2500 for the government servants. They were offered Rs. 10,000 and did not want it.

    sw Saturday, 27 November 2010 12:44 PM

You voted for the 18th Amendment, what is your problem now?

    Cobra Saturday, 27 November 2010 12:56 PM

Yes, and wasn't he part of this disappointment?
