I am living in Japan for the last 22 years, and the Election commissioner had failed to facilitate over 30,000 Sri Lankans entitlement to vote via the embassy. This is happens around the world and the bribery Commissioner is clueless and oblivious of the denial of universal franchise to vote. Also "Hora Votes" are rampant at all elections especially in the UNP party that amounts to over a million.I was informed that my vote was put by UNP agents for two decades whre my vote was registered at Torrington Avenue, Colombo, 7 from 1975.Promoting thse incompetent officials is normal in the UNP regimes

you cannot blame the commissioner of elections for not facilitating lankans living abroad to vote at our elections. There is no provisions in our laws for the EC to allow them to vote. Blame our law makers. Any way it will be a complicated process to devise a system to provide ballot papers to voters spread in all corners of the world, especially where there are no Lankan missions. Perhaps an on line voting process is possible. The parliament must first pass the necessary laws
