Lankan cricketers to play in IPL

Sri Lanka Cricket said today that all Sri Lankan cricketers have confirmed their participation at the Indian Premier League except for Dinesh Chandimal, Nuwan Kulasekara and Akila Dhananjaya.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror Online SLC CEO Ashley De Silva said that all the players who confirmed participation were set to leave shortly.

However, Cricket Board sources said that all players had been advised against travelling to Chennai.

Dear All, I do not agree you ppl complaining about SANGA and MAHELA. We should be proud that both of them are captaining 2 sides, they have been chosen over the Indians because they have what it takes to deliver. Therefore being captain of a team they have their responsibilities towards their team as well. However i would say its the responsibility of the high commissioner in India, the sports minister and all those heat the seats at SLC to have had the assurance from the Indian government for the safety of our players.

Hey Guys, Just because Jayalalitha is mixing sports with politics we should not do the same. We should show her that we are more educated by participating in the IPL. We should welcome all tourists from Chennai with our usual Sri Lanka smile and be even more kind to them. If we Sri lankans are to act the same way then there is no difference between them and us. This should make then realise who we realy are. These cricketers can only earn money for small period. So let them do so, as once they leave cricket most of them are not educated to take a propper job and earn a living.

There is nothing wrong in our players playing for IPL. They have not been rejected by IPL or India, just in Tamil Nadu.
