Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya today rejected a request made by Counsel Jayantha Weerasinghe to transfer Ms. Shashi Weerawansa to the National Hospital in Colombo for treatment from the prison hospital.

Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya while rejecting the request made by the counsel said that the Registrar of Persons Department had been ordered to inform court tomorrow the criteria followed by them in issuing the National Identity card to Ms. Weerawansa.

The Magistrate said he would thereafter consider whether Ms. Weerawansa should be sent to the National Hospital or kept in the remand prison. (T. Farook Thajudeen)

What is her sudden ailment for her to be in hospital? Does all prisoners fall ill as soon as they re arrested? Or is it only politicians and their family members fall ill when arrested with policolitis!

Vijith Pieterz Thursday, 26 February 2015 07:03 PM

Weerawansa should be the next - to receive the same treatment. No. special treatments should be given to these idiots.

Bubble Banda Thursday, 26 February 2015 07:02 PM

Is Weerawansa a mighty Lord.... why special treatment !!!! no need. She is also a dirty criminal who should deserve normal punishment as others.

Desmond Jeromme Thursday, 26 February 2015 07:00 PM

No need special attention to this criminal. she should suffer mental agony in the normal prison and relate the facts.

Kiris Baba Amaray Thursday, 26 February 2015 06:59 PM

No need special attention on this nasty women. His nasty husband is also another crook.... both should be punished as normal citizens of SriLanka.

Horri Jimonis Thursday, 26 February 2015 05:25 PM

Should not allow this lady to enter to any other Hospitals other than the Prison Hospital. Her husband has good for nothing catches in all the other hospitals.

Horri Jimonis Thursday, 26 February 2015 05:18 PM

No worries, she is OK - only thing is Weerawansa want to act a drama saying she is sick. She should be in the Prison Hospital and their doctors will decide.

Calistus Jayatilleke Thursday, 26 February 2015 05:18 PM

Of course, why should she get any special treatment. After all, fraud is fraud regardless of who does it - especially after her husband challenged the authorities to come and arrest her.

Desmond Jeromme Thursday, 26 February 2015 05:16 PM

Nothing wrong with her, she is fit and perfect. She should be kept only in the Prison and not in hospitals.

Kiris Baba Amaray Thursday, 26 February 2015 05:15 PM

No need atall to transfer this women to National Hospital as she has no sickness as such. Best place is the Prison Hospital.
