Judges have adjourned the trial of a Sri Lankan housemaid, who allegedly strangled her baby after giving birth, to review a psychiatrist's report.
They will use it to determine her mental state and whether she should be held responsible.
The High Criminal Court yesterday adjourned the case until June 12.
Judges previously heard that she stuffed a piece of cloth inside the infant's mouth after strangling it to make sure it was dead. She also allegedly hid the body in a storeroom at her Bahraini employer's home in Budaiya.
The woman, 39, told police the child's father was an Asian, but no further information was available.
