Container creates traffic

A traffic jam was reported in Orugodawatta after a container toppled this morning. The container lorry was heading to Orugodawatta from Borella. No injuries have been reported and the cause for the accident has not been ascertained yet.

Traffic Police have taken steps to clear the traffic jam, police said. (CP)

    Like in other countries, these Heavy vehicles should be diverted into a seperate root to prevent such accidents and making the public in trouble specially in the school hours and Office hours. IGP over to you.

    I can not understand why they are allowing containers during high jam. There should be a proper plan to minimize container movements in to the Colombo city.

    Many police man are crazy.. When they ride their Mo.Bicycles they don't use signal lights.. 90% Motorist also when they TURN TO RIGHT never used signal lights.. Specialy Borella juntion .... Vehicles come along Baseline Rd. to Borella T.lights then turn to Ward place never use Signal light creating huge traffic jam.. POLICE MAN ON DUTY THERE THINKS DRIVER GOING TO SAVE ELECTRICITY DUE TO BRAKE DOWN OF NOROCH CHOLE... Dear IGP Its a offence if someone not use signal light at right time..     Containers arenuisense during peak hours. Why cannot the IGP implement a rule to allow containers to use the roads from10pm to 6 am enabling the traffic to use the roads without any interruption. Hope the government will take note of this.
