England beat Sri Lanka comprehensively by eight wickets in the second test match a short while ago. The series was leveled at one all after Sri Lanka beat the worlds top test team in Galle last week. Kevin Peitersen was the star for England scored 151 runs in the first innings, which proved to be the crucial difference in the match.

England were set a target of 94 after Sri lanka were bundled out for 278. England having dominated all aspects of the match, reached the target with the loss of two wickets.

Please train young guys to replace the weary old folks. The experienced old guys should voluntarily step down and pave the way for young to gain more experience. There is a time limit for every job.

Sri Lanka need to concentrate on it cricket that comment to say that Monrty should play or runs are had to get. Had Monty played Sri Lanka may have won. Runs were had to get for Sri Lanka and not so much for England.

There are much better youngsters who would easily replace Sanga. Compare the current first class batting averages of Angelo Perera, Ashen Silva, Roshen Silva, Bhanuka with Sanga's, before Sanga got into test side. One of them could easily replace him. One can't keep on playing on past performance only like it happened with the recent politically influenced retiree

No sooner the 1st test was won, our guys got way too comfortable and thought a loss wasnt possible in the second, thinking our spinnes will have the advantage. Our batsmen sucked twice in a match and we need quality bowlers.The seach must go on to find quality spinners and also fast bowlers above par . Talk about England playing spin IN asian conditions....Drawing series is not the best, we have to have the " GO 4 THE KILL " attitude to win matches...

Nothing wrong. One side should win. We have won one and lost this. England foughtback well. Our Cricket fans are like Indian fans, everytime Sachin goes to bat they want a century, similarly now our fans expect a win in each and every match. That is not sport.

For future test serires can we see beyond Thirimanne for the opening slot and for one days series can we see beyond upul tharanga. I dont see how the selectors are so weak that they dont see that Thirimanne is a one day player and upul tharanga is a test player but for some reason they keep playing upul tharanga for one day whereas he should be our permenant opening test slot and NOT ONE DAY

removing Sanga and Dilshan at this point I don't agree.. Sanga definitely needs to bat at number 3.. But Dilshan should be sent lower down the order.. may be ahead of Mathews.. Need to bring Tharanga Paranavithana or Upul Tharanga back to open and may be open with Chandimal.. (Cos he is too much of a talent to waste)

As for your comment regarding bowlers I totally agree... Shaminda Eranga should be in the test bowling line up and think we should give Ajantha Mendis another go (instead of Randiv) and see...

Selectors and the local media that doesn't highlight blunders made by selectors are mainly responsible for these home-series losses since 2007. The getting defeated by countries like England is not that difficult to digest,but getting hammered by Zimbabwe, Bangladesh in the near future at consistent basis want be that easy for us to bear.as ardent Cricket fans.

Selectors keep on trying their favourites while hiding young talent - paving the way to two Chamara's, Dilruwan and other hot favourites, They take extra care so that the favourites are given better conditions to shine while much better up and coming youngsters were send low down the order. When you consider the bowlers it is the same story..

Congratulation to England. They are deserve to be in number one in the world. They have really good fast bowling unit plus Graeme Swann.
Lakmal and Prasad took only one wicket together shows where they are. Thirinamma prooves nothing to be in the opening position. If we want to beet Pakistan and India in coming months we need to at our best and definitely some players has to go out.

Thirimanne is a utter waste of space in the squad....

Chandimal needs to be given opening to play freely but sensibly..... Thus another youngster needs to given a go..likes of Dimuth Karunarathne...

Dishan should have a go at 6..

Sanga N Mahela....out of the question....Their experience is much needed for another couple of years....
