The Commissions appointed by the Government to look into various issues are not submitting their reports but only rising up even higher than the Bloemendhal garbage dump, the main opposition UNP charged today.

“The appointing Commissions only keep accumulating costs though the outcome is nil,” UNP spokesman Gayantha Karunathilake said.

He said those in the authority were appointing commissions so that they could avoid taking responsibility and protect their posts.

“The Commissions appointed to look into deaths caused by the adverse weather situation and the one appointed to look into inferior fuel will also be a waste of time and money and no one will be held responsible,” he said. (Yohan Perera and Lahiru Pothmulla)
