CID seeks statement from ‘Lanka’

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has asked the Editor of the ‘Lanka’ newspaper to give a statement regarding an article which appeared in the newspaper on Tuesday titled ‘Sathmeda Lanka’ which made some revelations about a senior government official, the JVP said at a media briefing this morning. I am living in a country with media freedom. I have never seen a fabricated stories against anyone on any news paper during last more than ten years of my stay. They use media freedom responsibly. But in SL readers are forced to believe fabricated stories by newspapers and electronic media. If there is restricted media freedom media itself is partly responsible I believe. Also there were incidents media ID cards were given to non-media personnel if I remeber correctly. If you want a respect you need to repect others. In Sri Lanka everyone else has to be perfect, except me.
