The opposition is planning to pursue the probe into the alleged fraud in the sale of Central Bank Bonds by bringing it to the notice of foreign missions in Sri Lanka, former external affairs minister G.L. Peiris said yesterday.
He told Daily Mirror that he and a few other opposition MPs would carry out this task.
“We studied all aspects of this bond issue. It has far wider implications not only Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran,” Mr. Peiris said.
He said this bond issue had accumulative effects on the economy, and therefore the opposition would not relent in pursuit of action.
“It is a hemorrhage on the economy,” Mr. Peiris said.
Meanwhile the opposition has handed over a motion against Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran. The motion was signed by more than 90 MPs. (Kelum Bandara)
How nice if you would have been so vigilant during the last 6 years or so when billions of dollars was pilfered from Sri Lanka. It was so bad that economic development minister disappeared just after the last elections. Where you in hibernation ?

Mr. Peiris, at the same time bring to the notice of the foreign missions details of all the corrupt deals enacted during your time as minister. By the way, do you have any credibility left for the foreign missions to entertain you and your likes.

No one will take seriously what this charlatan writes to inflate the ego of MR.How may sky miles this man has earned in his official capacity and now using them for personal travel of him and his family. If he is an honest guy he should return those Smile points back to the government. Bribery Commission should take note of this fraud.
