    ghaffarifarook Wednesday, 29 September 2010 08:47 AM

We will send our national heroes who finished the bloody tiger to wipe off this Black guys in a matter of days with the help of our great General Sarath Fonseka

    Sudath Wednesday, 29 September 2010 08:47 AM

Its time to wipe out that God-forsaken area called Somali, along with the beasts that inhabit it.Slaughter them all. Our Armed forces need something worthy to do. Destroy them from the land, air and sea!

Captain Live Wednesday, 29 September 2010 08:57 AM

Top Officials in Ministry busy doing their own private business than tackling the problem.

Ralph Anthony Wednesday, 29 September 2010 08:59 AM

Enough is enough this type of brutility should come to an end. What is the UN and powerful countries doing.

    Ranil Wednesday, 29 September 2010 08:07 PM

Wow you sound just like "those warmongering Americans". This is what happens when you are either unable or unwilling to understand of the nature of problems, nor distinguish between oppressor and oppressed. The majority of Somalis have suffered much at the hands of those despicable warlords and then the Islamists. Piracy cannot flourish like it does, if there was a government. The Straits of Malacca have been plagued by pirates for years, but they cant dock hijacked ships by the dozen at Indonesian ports without catching the attention of the Navy. So if you want to resolve this problem, help do what it takes to establish a functioning government in a land free from terrorism. Good luck with that!

May he attain Nibbana or RIP
But Somali pirate would have had kept him as hostage for ransom if he is a Westerner or Japanese or Korean or Singaporean.
He was killed because he was a citizen of country no worse than Somalia
That what our politicians has done to our country.
NO RESPECT for SRI L ANKA EVEN FROM PIRATES.

    Heroes Wanted !

    GKA Wednesday, 29 September 2010 10:51 AM

Spot on Taj... Our SBS or RABS commandos from the Navy should be placed on board ships carrying SL crews. These elites, who have hands-on fighting experience are better than any other in world, and have the capability to wipe out these Somali gangs.

    Taj Wednesday, 29 September 2010 05:07 AM

Sri Lanka Govt should send a contigent of our Navy to return the favour to these terrorists.

kethai hondey Wednesday, 29 September 2010 11:05 AM

whats the price for this loss? will UAE people ever understand this?

    JSilva Wednesday, 29 September 2010 05:56 AM

at least have some navy units on ships crewed mainly by sri lankans. This somalian idiots are getting out of hand.

    Wasantha Wednesday, 29 September 2010 06:06 AM

Somali pirates have been terrorising the territorial waters of the world since long time. and have become a threat to the entire world. An urgent collective effort from the world powers is a must to eradicate the another from of terrorism.

    shanthi Wednesday, 29 September 2010 06:14 AM

    sin, sympathies to the family.

    sltk2004 Wednesday, 29 September 2010 06:38 AM

Since no one seems to be taking the correct approach to solve this pirate problem, we should send some navy crafts, and sink some of these pirate ships, that would be a good thing to the global maritime industry.

Siri Herath Wednesday, 29 September 2010 01:32 PM

Mere talking and suppositions are a waste of time. over 200 ships were hijacked. As GKA points out, our navy has hans-on experience against the most formidable. A frigate or two to blow the Somali pirates would send a clear message to the pirates, not to mention the other Nations who can learn a thing or two.

    willow Wednesday, 29 September 2010 06:59 AM

I suppose, there are lot of Sri Lankans working on these ships, and now we have completed the war with most ruthless terror outift, it is not a bad idea to send some of our esteem navy seals and special forces heroes and I am sure for them these somalians no match, even the west navys are patrolling they are not upto our standards.

Nushad Perera Wednesday, 29 September 2010 02:44 PM

are you guys are for real ?

    SeaDog Wednesday, 29 September 2010 03:44 PM

If I read right, the location the pirates boarded the vessel is beyond my comprehension - The Straits of Hormuz is the entrance to the Persian Gulf and has more traffic than on the Galle Road at 8 AM on a weekday - and it is also some 4 - 5 days sailing time from Somalia or the Gulf of Aden where piracy is at its peak... So far the Northern-most point of Hijacking has been off the coast of Oman in the narrow strip of water between the coast and the island of Masira (mv Charelle - 2009 June). The present location is around 27 Degrees North and roughly 1100 n,m. from the Gulf of Aden...and it beats me how a bum-boat with pirates got that far - attacked the vessel - killed the Captain and just vanished into the thin air! This area also has excellent mobile phone signals of Etisalat, OmanTel, AirTel as well as a few other operators... This simply can not be true... even the more sophisticated navies of the world operate off logistic bases off Oman...

wickremasinghe Dilip Wednesday, 29 September 2010 08:02 AM

I compleatly agree with Willow in this matter, thanks for your comment.
