This is such a shame. Why can't we develop our local livestock industry..We have everything we need.If we need more live stock...Then We have our members of hte parliment
charlie Saturday, 04 December 2010 09:09 PM
What a foolish idea .
rohandil Saturday, 04 December 2010 09:46 PM
Camels and ostriches are far better then the donkeys in the parliament.
Pramod F Saturday, 04 December 2010 10:01 PM
First of all, Ostrich eggs are very expensive. Camels eat a certain types of leaves which are grown only in desert climets. Also Camel milk cannot be consumed unless you get use to it slowly.
Kodage Saturday, 04 December 2010 10:38 PM
If all the 95 Ministers have such new ideas our country will
be a top Asian nation soon.
dhanushka Sunday, 05 December 2010 01:12 AM
Oh what superb plan for money pump to minister account and his kewattas accouunts
ddddd Sunday, 05 December 2010 01:24 AM
next step would be to ban milking and slaughtering cows. and begin worshiping them.
Cobra Sunday, 05 December 2010 02:03 AM
When they have nothing to do they come up with the most absurd ideas. Mithrapala could easily have banned eggs and milk than think of Camels and ostriches!!!!!
paul Sunday, 05 December 2010 02:04 AM
Ostriches are farmed for their leather and feathers, not their eggs. Perhaps leather handled feather dusters could be SL's new boom industry.
alex Sunday, 05 December 2010 03:11 AM
.Sri Lanka is becoming desert ??
Navin Sunday, 05 December 2010 03:22 AM
I'm sure we would fare much better if we had a Camel as the minister and an Ostrich as its deputy.
Musthafa Bawa Sunday, 05 December 2010 07:47 AM
CAMEL MILK AND MEAT VERY HOT- NOT EASY
Gulf Kolla Sunday, 05 December 2010 08:41 AM
Camel meat is heaty but the milk is cooling. Camel milk neutralises the high glucose level in the body, thus is good for diabetes. This may be the reason why the god has given the date palms (high sugar) and camels to the middle east.
nalagiri Saturday, 04 December 2010 07:28 PM
typical stupidity. where is it mentioned about the consumption of MEAT?????
Labby Sunday, 05 December 2010 09:39 AM
How about turtles and donkeys ?
Ramesh Sunday, 05 December 2010 09:43 AM
Why not bring down some cows instead of camels and have some bigger farms in Nanu Oya and Watawala areas... where the maintenance of these cows will be less.. instead of bringing Camels and Ostriches and creating more problems... think from your head not from anywhere else... What group of ministers we have.. my sympathies.
Sampath Sunday, 05 December 2010 10:03 AM
Camel milk instead of cow milk! So that can become camels. Good move as girls are not having enough dowry to get married.
Raja Sunday, 05 December 2010 10:11 AM
Throw away your narrow minded vision and think on the basis of national interest.
Oyage sudu kella Sunday, 05 December 2010 10:57 AM

Sira Saturday, 04 December 2010 01:06 PM
Whay haven't we got plenty of them in Parliment? Only problem is that the public who voted them can't milk them. They milk the public and the public money.
shameer Saturday, 04 December 2010 01:10 PM
somewhat good idea............. import camels for meat purposes too.... that would reduce the drift in racial disharmony created for the muslim community......
Mushi Saturday, 04 December 2010 02:03 PM
Camel, one of my favourite animals. Good move. This can potentially bring lot of goodies and changes to sri lankan poultry industry.
Big Kahuna Saturday, 04 December 2010 02:03 PM
So they'll be milking the ostriches and getting the camels to lay eggs now?
suba Saturday, 04 December 2010 02:09 PM
Minister Jhonston might like the idea as he is already planning to import chicken and eggs from India.
Thomas Saturday, 04 December 2010 02:14 PM

Ya what a wonderful idea! No to wheat import, yes to camel & ostrich meat. What a Buddhist country!!
Miles Saturday, 04 December 2010 05:38 PM
Bury the head in the sand like an Ostrich! That's what you will do by eating Ostrich eggs. However, the good part is that people will have less stress. They will not know prices going up when you bury the head in the sand! Will you?
Liberal Lanka Saturday, 04 December 2010 06:00 PM
Camel milk and ostrich eggs? Come on jobless minister, When are camels going to produce more milk than cows and ostriches going to produce more eggs than hen?
Sammy Saturday, 04 December 2010 06:12 PM
