CA bars Fonterra from advertising products 100% perfect

The Court of Appeal today issued an Interim Order compelling the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) to prevent Fonterra Brands Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., from publishing any advertisements in the “manner and style deceiving the consumers and public that the products imported by them are 100% perfect.

The Bench comprising Justices S.Sriskandarajah (President of the CA) and W.M.M.Malinie Gunaratne issued this order operative till August 21 sequent to a Writ Petition complaining that the Milk Power imported from New Zealand was contaminated with Dicyandiamide (DCD) which was harmful and / or toxic to human health.
