Bogus job agent sent to jail

The Colombo Chief Magistrate today sentenced a bogus job agent to 11 years rigorous imprisonment for cheating 11 foreign job seekers for a sum of Rs.880,000.

The Chief Magistrate Champa Janaki Rajaratna also ordered him to repay the monies immediately to the complainants or face a further 11 years in jail.

The suspect had collected Rs. 80,000 from each complainant in return to send them overseas for employment. (TFT)

    Judgement is a good lesson to those who cheated general public and rob their money keeping false promises.Magistrate has given an appropriate judgement in the offense which is highly required at this hour to control misdeeds take place in the society which have brought an enormouse hardship to the peopls.
