Body scanners in prison

Body scanners and other security equipment will be introduced to detect any contraband entering local prisons in the future, Rehabilitation and Prison Reforms Minister DEW Gunasekera told Daily Mirror online.

The Minister added that the scanners will be used to scan officials and visitors who are entering and exiting prisons. (Sanath Desmond) (Daily Mirror online)

    Who will protect drugs getting passed over the prison walls? Scanners enough to check drug traffickers who are entering with permission but passing over prison wall need to be guarded properly.

    I wonder , why those gadgets to the prison. The inmates don' t make any illegal thing by themselves , but supplied by outsiders. Why the out side can't be kept in order by screening the people like well known Dr. ?

    Good move which should have come much much earlier. Yet, better late than never. The issue is, who will supervise the scanning operation?... The corruption have crept in to an extent one cannot imagine..
