1st scan the jail guards & The police who are at the jails. Then 95% of the contraband entering will stop.

    dn Tuesday, 09 November 2010 05:22 AM

Gayan Samarasekara Tuesday, 09 November 2010 05:37 AM

Unless the system is fully automated, this may be just another way for officials to collect more bribes. Good try anyway.

    tamilan Tuesday, 09 November 2010 05:40 AM

    Boobamba Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:00 AM

This should have done long time ago especially during the time when LTTE hardcore terrorists were brought in at the prisons.

    Prasanna Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:00 AM

Good move which should have come much much earlier. Yet, better late than never. The issue is, who will supervise the scanning operation?... The corruption have crept in to an extent one cannot imagine..

    ef Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:41 AM

no system can make a person honest.

    pbj Tuesday, 09 November 2010 06:59 AM

I wonder , why those gadgets to the prison. The inmates don' t make any illegal thing by themselves , but supplied by outsiders. Why the out side can't be kept in order by screening the people like well known Dr. ?

TERRENCE B. DE SILVA Tuesday, 09 November 2010 11:14 AM

Excellent , it is time to win the war on prisons too..and in effect the drug trade

    dhana Wednesday, 10 November 2010 12:23 AM

Who will protect drugs getting passed over the prison walls? Scanners enough to check drug traffickers who are entering with permission but passing over prison wall need to be guarded properly.

    shanthi Tuesday, 09 November 2010 07:54 AM

Yes the corruption has taken place long time ago , they should have done this many , many years ago.
