Former US Ambassador Robert O. Blake in 2006 described President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga as one of the experienced moderates in the government, but has said that he has little ability to influence the powerful military in the country, a US cable from the WikiLeaks database revealed.

Blake described Lalith Weeratunga as “de-facto National Security Advisor” and “one of the experienced moderates in the government, but has little ability to influence the powerful military.”

The cable is classified as “Confidential’ and written by Blake after his meeting with Weeratunga on November 7, 2006.

We thought Julian Asange was jailed and it is all over. But, someone out there is trying to save that company and Jobs. Nice way to get out of poverty and joblessness at poor people’s expense.

doesn't the US have enough skeletons to hide and problems of their own to deal with instead of intruding in other nation's affairs? Isn't that why we have a UN?

    I can't believe this!

Please define "patriotic" so that I know what you mean by that word.

Patriotic is supporting your government when it deserves it and supporting the values your country stands for at all times at any cost to career, wealth or life.

Really appreciate Blake' s attribute to Lalith Weeratunge - a great thinker and an administrator par excellent. The bottom line is even an enemy can deny these qualities of him.

    chaminda Wednesday, 07 March 2012 10:11 AM

Let me put it this way - any opposing view to the govt. is unpatriotic!
