Look like when Herath becomes a wicket taker other bowlers become even more effective

    Jan Monday, 05 September 2011 09:10 AM

Herath bowled well to take eight wickets. Are SL players still in the T20 mood like the Indian counterparts?

    Manujer Monday, 05 September 2011 05:00 AM

Yeas. But only Randiv must be replaced with Thirimanne.

    Manujer Monday, 05 September 2011 04:58 AM

Angelo hasn't got the test temperament, at all, considering the way he got out in both innings even though he is the vice captain. If not for Mahela, as the partner, he wouldn't have scored 10 runs even, as in the 1st innings.

    Katta
Please don't blame Mahela. Anyone who got a 100 agaist Australia will celebrate. You will do the same.
Be a gentleman and Contratulate him for the superb innings.
Congrats Mahela. Hope people remember how you played at the last world cup final, when Sangakkara & other stayed like puppets.

SL top order failure again, the team should have a proper leadership to play a strategic game. No criticism but the captain should have done better on the field till the end however it is more to do with our players inability to take charge of the game.

I am very disappointed with the attitude of Capt. Dilshan - he is reported to have said that he will play the way he does whatever the occasion/circumstance.If Dilshan cannot adapt to test cricket, then he certainly should not be captaining the test side. He is probably more suited to captain the ODI and T20 sides. Adaptability should be the name of the game not occasional flash brilliance. What a crazy shot Mathews played to end his innings at 95. The side and Country were up against it and Mathews plays the most impetuous shot to try to get to his century with a six !! Inexperience and T20 mentality, probably responsible. Is there no proper coach to the Sri Lankan team ???

ah come on get a life man. losing is a part of the game. learn to live with it.
    btw, congrats australia. well played.

You are a fine doctor - stating all the obvious. Are you sure you are not former SL commentator R. Fernando?

    crico_lover Saturday, 03 September 2011 10:34 AM

Hope this match was'nt fixed. Cannot believe the result of any game now...

    J,D, Saturday, 03 September 2011 03:28 PM

    Not an interest news....

    2nd Test Team Saturday, 03 September 2011 02:51 PM

    2nd Test Team

    1Tirimanne, 2 Dinesh ( Wk) , 3 Sanga, 4 Mahela, 5 Dilshan, 6 Angello, 7 Sajith Pathirane / Herath 8 Seekuge 9 Lakmal, 10 Nuwan, 11 Ajantha

    Yahiya-Doha Saturday, 03 September 2011 02:47 PM

Win or loss some are won.

Pemal Herath Saturday, 03 September 2011 02:05 PM

From the start, in England and to date, Dilshan never was the role model captain who inspires his team by approach nor performance. What was on view was occasional individual brilliance. When taking on any test team (never mind top teams like Aus and Eng), one surely the team has to be well greased and oiled and working like clock work. On top of these, the curator made a shambolic job that backfired on the home team. Where is Nuwan Pradeep Fernando?

PresiDunce Bean Saturday, 03 September 2011 01:31 PM

Dilshan is a one day and T20 player. He does not have the temperament for test cricket. Attapattu, Sanath, Vaas and Murali are gone. Now only Mahela and Sanga remain. Once they retire it will be back to pre 1996 cricket. The writing is already on the wall.

    Gotabaya Saturday, 03 September 2011 01:24 PM

    congrats

    Mahen Saturday, 03 September 2011 12:10 PM

Irresponsible batting by SL . Specially Dilshan, Sanga, Thilan. Dilshan proved that, He is not suitable to lead the team. Its gives his a extra pressure.

    madpatriot Saturday, 03 September 2011 11:37 AM

YOU GUYS CAN NONLY WIN OVWER YOUR OWN PEOPLE IN THE NAME OF LIBERATION THE WORLD KNOWS WHATS SRILANKAN LIBERATION

    Katta Saturday, 03 September 2011 11:31 AM

Mahela was celebrating his 100 like a clown as if he didnt care about wining the game for the country ... pathetic .... he could have toned it down a bit showing the public he was after a win for the country and not a personal century for him ..... bad example for kids who were watching.....

    abdul Saturday, 03 September 2011 11:08 AM

Pity, we fought all the way even though we lost this match on the 2nd day, Dilshan should bat at 6 and keep wickets, Thirimanne should replace Prasanna Jayawardene and open, Seekuge should play instead of Randiv for the next test

Dr PP Gunaratna Saturday, 03 September 2011 11:00 AM

Sri Lanka need to find ways of winning matches. Coming close or fighting back against the odds but finishing as the loosing side is not good enough. That will do no good for our ranking. Our first innings debacle effectively sealed the fate of this match. Dilshan is not the best of captains to have but at the moment there is no other choice. This is the first real top quality knock in tests by Angelo who has to now play the pure batsman role. He needs put up some more similar performances to secure a permanent solt.

    Godaya Saturday, 03 September 2011 10:52 AM

The match was MAHELA and MATHEWS against Australia!
