You have no brains between your ears Krishnan. Besides is this why 90% of refugees arriving in Australia are Tamils? You are more than welcome to stay where you are. Australians are very generous so don't abuse them.
Nodrog Tuesday, 18 December 2012 07:10 AM
Did you go to the Weerawansa School of Conspiracies? Narroe-minded people like you might actually benefit from these grants so don't oppose them.
Tamil Sellan Tuesday, 18 December 2012 12:41 AM

Seems like an educated Sri Lankan. Im sure you were one of the many who floated to Australia. And, why would terrorrists prefer Australia over Sri Lanka? You should call yourself a BoatPeople instead of that FONZY name you are hiding behind.
Bagalawathie Monday, 17 December 2012 10:25 AM
By the way Mr Carr have you solved all the problems relating to Aborigines, like the black deaths in custody before you came to Sri Lanka ?.

Why would they want to come back to Sri Lanka with good qualifications, when Politicians with little or no qualifications are doing the grand here?
Bagalawathie Sunday, 16 December 2012 09:31 AM
Giving scholarships to Sri Lankans to Australia is OK, but the problem is they never come back to SL.
Jagath Leanage Sunday, 16 December 2012 09:16 AM
Thank you sir. Hats off for your generous offer. Please teach our POLITICIANS & OFFICIALS to do things with "transparency" and "how to do public work without robbing money" also.

A cheaper way that will not cost Ausi taxpayers money is to have a policy of shoot to kill of any illegal immigrant that crosses the Ausi shores, problem would be solved overnight.

Tintin Saturday, 15 December 2012 11:09 PM
I would of course say...offer training/ scholarship opportunities in areas of Health, Waste management, Education, etc etc in Australia to persons who are tested and verified to be suitable candidates by the Australian High commission in Sri Lanka. When or if they return, they can help boost the standard of life here through the education they received. Most aid granted goes into individual purses. As such the vicious cycle of Boat people would continue and the purpose of aid from Australia, defeated..
good doc Saturday, 15 December 2012 10:35 PM

$34 million over four years is only a fraction of migrants Sri Lankan takes to Australia from home. Sri Lankan who have migrated to Australia from middle east and African countries in 1990s have taken lot of wealth. Highly skilled engineers and Doctors have migrated to Australia and contributed to the Australian economy. Stability in Sri Lanka is not going to help emigration to Australia rather skilled and wealthy Sri Lankans will return to home country which is not good for Australia. Australia should take more unskilled migrants. Australia owe more to Sri Lanka.
