Arun Tambimuttu son of former MP Sam Tambimuttu who was gunned down by the LTTE in the 1980s, has been appointed as the Presidential Coordinator for the Batticaloa District.

A letter notifying the appointment had already been sent to Mr. Tambimuttu by the Secretary to President Lalith Weeratunga sources said.
