Arrest warrant issued against Vaas Jr.

An arrest warrant was issued against Ravindu Gunawardena the son of former DIG Vaas Gunawardena by the Kaduwela Magistrates court when the case pertaining to the assault of Nipuna Ramanayake was heard today

Initial reports said that the magistrate issued the order after the Police made submissions regarding the case this morning.

The warrant was issued after the suspect Ravindu Vaas Gunawardena failed to appear in court when the case was taken up today.

The Police had requested the Kaduwela Magistrate Wasantha Jinadasa to take relevant measures to ensure the absconding suspect appears before court after which the warrant was issued.

The case is to be taken up on November 29, 2013( Dasun Rajapakshe)
