The Army today conducted a search operation in the court complex at Hulftsdorp to ensure that no suspicious substances were hidden in the premises when General Sarath Fonseka is produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate tomorrow.
General Sarath Fonseka is to be produced before the Magistrate to inquire into a complaint made by the CID in respect of a defamatory statement made by the General to Sunday Leader editor Fredrika Jansz alleging that Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa had ordered the forces to shoot those who surrendered to the forces during the final stage of the humanitarian operation at Wellamulli Vaikkal.
The magistrate earlier issued notice to the army commander to produce General Sarath Fonseka before court today to inquire the complaint.

It will never happen as long as he is with JVP. Now he has become just a clown who is dancing according to the JVP tune.

This is done for his (SF) safe. Not for the government safe.

Don't you feel pre-caution is better than cure ? If something happened, who will take the responsibility ? You people start blaming government for any incident Don't you ??

A fish dies because of his mouth. Im glad to see SF more toned down now. He should have control of his emotions if he is to be a leader. The greatest leaders have worked their way to the top, starting from the bottom of the ladder of politics.

What are suspicious substances?

No Piyal. My point is the courts must be constantly safeguarded. Sri Lanka is a country where the "thieves" are employed for security of important establishments. I am not a JVPer.

Yes, please I would like to know too!!!

Well said. Even the blind can see how stupidly silly we are. Whom are we trying to fool or on the other hand maybe trying to impress??
Tuesday, 11 May 2010 02:12 PM
Well said about an arrogant self serving general.
Tuesday, 11 May 2010 02:01 PM
@Saliya, You think JVP should be allowed to search the court premises?
Tuesday, 11 May 2010 01:28 PM
This government and the armed forces cannot be trusted...
Tuesday, 11 May 2010 01:08 PM
Why searched the court premises? To kill General Fonseka during the trial by planting a bomb!!! Now, STF and PSD are more untrustworthy than terrorists. It's funny that General Fonseka's enemy's loyal forces searched the court premises.

There is no remedy or medication for ones foul mouth and greediness for power thru overestimating his capabilities.Right thru out the Presidential election campaign,Sarath Fonseka who was respected by many uttered all sorts of arrogant statements accusing others with indecent language not realising that what is said cannot be gulped back.Still there is time for this Retired General to correct himself. But the clique around him are equally or worse in their language.
KARME THAMA!!!
