A'pura Buddhist University closes

Anuradhapura Buddhasravaka Bhiksu University will be closed from tomorrow till May 27 due to a contagious disease, Acting Vice Chancellor Ven. Dr. Waradiwela Vijeyasumana Thera said.

The decision was taken following 70 student monks who were in the university hostel had taken ill with fever and stomach troubles.

Ven. Vijeyasumana Thera also said that steps had been taken to provide treatment to the sick monks. (Athula Bandara)
