Another woman killed in Kahawatta

A 66-year-old woman was found dead in her garden in the Warapitiya area in Kahawatta by her son this evening when he came back from work.Police said that she had been slashed to death. She was admitted to the Kahawatta Hospital but had already succumbed to her injuries at the time of admission.
It is the 15th reported death of a woman during the last four years in Kahawatta which had been a hot spot for years with mysterious murders and violence.
She was living in the house with her son for many years. Her son found her dead with severe injuries to her legs.
The police said that so far they have not been able to find the reason behind the death and who was involved but residents say the death is a mystery.
It is believed that she was slashed to death between 11.00am and 3.00pm. According to the residents they had not heard any noise.
Police was informed at around 5.30 pm this evening by the residents. A large number of people gathered around the house where the crime had taken place. (Supun Dias)

Oh my god. Kahawatta is so crazy. It is like the bad neighborhoods in Chicago and Los Angeles. The police must do something. If the Sri Lankan could defeat the Tamil Tigers they should be able to defeat the Kahawatta murders. via DM Android App

Exactly. The victims all being elderly women suggests that the criminal is acting from some psycho-sexual obsession. How can the police say the 'can't find the reason' for this death?

All of Kahawata murders were not the work of a "mysterious, lone" killer. Many of the murders were isolated personal disputes (except for the last 3). . Please dont misinterpret the situation for mere enjoyment!!! The last thing we want to promote in our country is a serial killing spree!
