The Attorney General today told the Court of Appeal that he would submit a comprehensive report on LTTE arms procurer Kumaran Pathmanathan (KP) within six months of time.

He said that the 193 incidents mentioned in the petition against KP have to be examined properly.

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) in early January filed a writ application urging the Appeal Court to issue an arrest order on KP. Later, the Court ordered the Attorney General to submit a report on the actions taken against KP. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)

Amnesty for illegal Funds. The government has to face innumerable problems at the same time. A larger time period will not help as a mandate for the people is needed. short cuts are needed as good governance means allowing the law to take its time. An amnesty could mean funds locke in other countries could be released for development. Political funds can also be released. This will give the government a chance for legislature to ensure good governance. Politicians like to make money. An amnesty will help to push the necessary legislative. It will free money collected for political purposes from here and abroad. planing for development and increasing productivity can then be given pride of place. Obtaining concession finance and technology and Foreign direct investment to capitalise on infrastructure development has to be done. Development is needed around the Hambantota port and a study of a rock hindering entry of ships has to be done. Trincomalee must be develpoped

JVP should withdraw the 193 item complaint and submit the best 10. We thought that all government departments were for the benefit of people. How wrong.
